Through the Platoon Veteran Services Center at Goodwill (“VSC”), Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (“GCNA”, “we,” “us,” or “our”) has partnered with Platoon 22 Inc. (“Platoon 22”) to bring essential programs and services to veterans in our communities. This Privacy Policy applies to your access to and use of www.platoonvsc.org, which is operated by GCNA. The Privacy Policy describes how your Personal Data is collected, used, and shared by GCNA when you visit our website or when you utilize the services we offer through the VSC. What Personal Data We Gather About You

Contact Information: We collect the contact details that you provide to us, such as your name, address, phone number, email.   We use this information for several purposes, including contacting you about and providing you with the VSC services you have requested, responding to requests or feedback you provide, scheduling appointments you have requested and sending you newsletters or other information that you have signed up to receive.  
Demographic Information & Other Information You Provide to Us: We collect information such as veteran status, gender, age, or location. We also collect other information that you provide to us, such as information you send us in emails or provide to us during appointments.  We use this information to help ensure that the VSC services offered to you are tailored to you. 
Donation and Payment Information: When you make a donation through our website or make a payment in our stores, we collect information necessary to process your donation or payment, including contact details and payment card information.  We use this information to receive your donation and to process your payment. We may also be required by law to collect this information. 
Cookies and tracking: We use cookies and clear GIFs. “Cookies” are small pieces of information that a website sends to a computer’s hard drive while a website is viewed.  We use this information to ensure our website operates efficiently. Email Interconnectivity: If you receive email from us, we may use certain tools to capture data related to when you open our message and click on any links or banners it contains. We use this information to understand how you interact with our communications to you.
Feedback/Support: If you provide us feedback or contact us for support we will collect your name and email address, as well as any other content that you send to us, in order to reply. We use this information in order to receive, and act upon, your feedback or issues.
Mailing List: When you sign up for one of our mailing lists we collect your email address or postal address.     We share information about our services with individuals that consent to receive such information. 
Mobile Devices: We collect information from your mobile device such as unique identifying information broadcast from your device when visiting our website. We use this information to identify unique visitors and understand how users interact with us on their mobile devices.
Surveys: When you participate in a survey we collect information that you provide through the survey. If the survey is provided by a third party service provider, the third party’s privacy policy applies to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information. We may conduct surveys and ask users to volunteer demographic information to be used on an aggregate basis for organizational research. We use such information to best ensure a positive experience for our shoppers, donors, and job seekers.

We collect Personal Data about you in a variety of ways depending on how you interact with us and our website and services, including:

  • Directly from you when you provide it to us, such as when sign up to receive newsletters, updates, or other information from us or contact us by phone, email, or otherwise. 
  • Automatically when you interact with our website or emails through the use of cookies, server logs, and other similar technologies. 
  • From other sources, including, for example, third parties, business partners, our affiliates, or publicly available sources.  

 

Your Choices Regarding Your Personal Data

Data Subjects can make the following choices regarding their Personal Data:

  • Promotional Emails. You may choose to provide us with your email address for the purpose of allowing us to send free coupons, newsletters, surveys, offers, and other promotional materials to you, as well as targeted offers from third parties. You can stop receiving promotional emails by following the unsubscribe instructions in emails that you receive. To opt-out of receiving communications from us, “Opt-Out” can be selected from any VSC email, or please contact us using the information below. If you decide not to receive promotional emails, we may still send you service related communications.
  • Promotional Mailings. If at any time you do not want to receive newsletters from us you can remove yourself from our mailing lists by emailing us (our contact information is below) with “NO SNAIL MAIL” in the subject line along with your name, address, and zip code. Please note that our mailings are prepared in advance of their being sent. Although we will remove your name from our mailing list after receiving your request, you may still receive mailings from us that had been initiated prior to your name being removed.
  • Do Not Track. Please note that we do not alter our Site’s data collection and use practices when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.

Sharing Your Personal Data

In addition to the specific situations discussed elsewhere in this policy, we disclose information in the following situations:

  1. VSC Onsite Service Providers. We partner with our VSC onsite service providers who work with us to wholistically serve VSC users. We may share your Personal Data with our onsite service providers to help you obtain benefits from working with these service providers. 
  2. Service Vendors. We share your Personal Data with our service vendors. Among other things service vendors may help us to administer our website, administer our job application portal, conduct surveys, provide technical support, process payments, and assist in the fulfillment of orders.
  3. Affiliates and Acquisitions. We may share information with our corporate affiliates (e.g., parent organization, sister organizations, subsidiaries, joint ventures, or other organizations under common control). If another company acquires, or plans to acquire, our organization or our assets, we will also share information with that company, including at the negotiation stage.  
  4. Disclosures with Your Consent. We may ask if you would like us to share your information with other unaffiliated third parties who are not described elsewhere in this policy.
  5. Disclosures without Your Consent. We may disclose information in response to subpoenas, warrants, or court orders, or in connection with any legal process, or to comply with relevant laws. We may also share your information in order to establish or exercise our rights, to defend against a legal claim, to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding possible illegal activities, suspected fraud, safety of person or property, or a violation of our policies, or to comply with your request for the shipment of products to or the provision of services by a third party intermediary.

 

How is Your Personal Data Secured?

We do our best to keep your Personal Data safe. We use safe protocols for communication and transferring data (such as HTTPS). We use anonymizing and pseudonymizing where suitable. We monitor our systems for possible vulnerabilities and attacks.

Even though we try our best, we cannot guarantee the security of information. However, we promise to notify suitable authorities of data breaches. We will also notify you if there is a threat to your rights or interests. We will do everything we reasonably can to prevent security breaches and to assist authorities should any breaches occur.

  • Third Party Applications/Websites. We have no control over the privacy practices of third party websites, including, but not limited to, the websites of our VSC onsite service providers. If you interact with a third-party website linked through our website, you should understand that your Personal Data will be subject to that third party’s privacy policies and practices and not ours. 
  • Changes to This Privacy Policy. We may change our privacy policy and practices over time. To the extent that our policy changes in a material way, the policy that was in place at the time that you submitted Personal Data to us will generally govern that information unless we receive your consent to the new privacy policy. Our privacy policy includes an “effective” and “last updated” date. The effective date refers to the date that the current version took effect. The last updated date refers to the date that the current version was last substantively modified.

  • Information for California Residents.
