Field of Honor Memorial Day Event benefiting Platoon 22
Saturday May 25 – Monday May 27 8:00 am – 8:00 pm Field of Honor Memorial Day Event benefiting Platoon 22 Ijamsville, MD – Field of Honor® 2024 – Colonial Flag Foundation (healingfield.org)
600 United States Flags are to be posted over the Memorial Day weekend by the Chaplain Vincent R. Cappodanno Assembly of the Knights of Columbus. This awe-inspiring display is Ijamsville’s 5th Field of Honor® display, and the first year it is coming back since the https://www.healingfield.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/DSC_2076-scaled.jpg Covid 19 pandemic shutdown.
Capturing the deeper meaning of Memorial Day, these flags fly in tribute to the military and veterans who have and do defend our freedoms at home and on fields of battle. Flags also honor first responders who serve and protect our community. New flags may be sponsored for $50, and reposting of previously sponsored flags for $25. The sponsors will retain the flags at the close of the event to be displayed in Ijamsville and surrounding communities as continuing mementos of service.
We are proud that 100% of net proceeds will go to our beneficiaries, America’s VetDogs and Platoon 22, serving our veterans.
The impact of this event is hard to adequately describe, but once experienced it is not to be forgotten. The Ijamsville Field of Honor® display is a gift to the community made possible through donations, sponsorships and the efforts of many dedicated volunteers. You can show your support and gratitude by sponsoring a flag or making a donation.
There is no charge to visit the Ijamsville Field of Honor® display, and all are invited to walk with us through the ordered rows of flags. This is an event not to be missed.
