Goodwill Industries of Monocacy Valley’s vision is to end poverty through the power of work. We provide our community a place to go to receive the career development, training, and educational resources they need to secure meaningful employment. This includes resume support, mock-interviewing, connections to local jobs, computer skills training, essential skills, and financial literacy classes. Our services are available virtually and in-person for one-on-one coaching and career prep with our Career Navigators.

Platoon 22’s mission is to end Veteran suicide through the successful reintegration of service members and their families. This is accomplished by assembling critical resources, providing peer support, and developing transitional programs. Our team is available to assist with benefits navigation, connecting you to resources, and providing various recreational offerings.

The Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs was created by the State Legislature in 1999 as an executive agency with the mission of assisting Veterans, active-duty service members, their families, and dependents, in securing benefits earned through military service.

Martinsburg Vet Center offers confidential help for Veterans, service members, and their families at no cost in a non-medical setting. Our services include counseling for needs such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and the psychological effects of military sexual trauma (MST). We can also connect you with more support in VA and your community.

Warrior Canine Connection utilizes a Mission Based Trauma Recovery model to help recovering Warriors reconnect with life, their families, their communities, and each other.

Frederick Military Museum of the 20th Century. We are a non-profit Museum whose goal is to educate our community about our local Veterans who fought in WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and the Gulf Wars. The Prosperity Center at UWFC provides support for qualifying families to make sound financial decisions and the Ride United program offers Veterans access to free or discounted Lyft rides.

With a passion for cars and helping those in need, Second Chances Garage seeks to make a difference in our community of Frederick County, Maryland, by offering “second chances” for individuals and families on their journey to independent living by providing assistance with their personal transportation needs.

The Frederick County Veterans Advisory Council (VAC) serves as a conduit for information and resources for the county’s Veterans and their families who may need assistance furthering their education, finding employment, receiving counseling, or accessing other services. Its mission is to identify issues affecting Veterans, inform Veterans and their families about resources, engage with our partners, and advise the County Executive on opportunities for policy and program changes that best support Frederick County’s 17,000 Veterans. Maryland’s Commitment to Veterans is a program within the Maryland Department of Health Behavioral Health Administration that focuses on the behavioral health and substance use treatment of service members, veterans and their families. We provide referrals to national, state and local organizations for behavioral health and substance use treatment, most of which are free and operate outside of the VA. We also provide referrals for upstream needs affecting behavioral health.
